    No tilling.

It as an OK introduction, though it stays very much on the surface. Gently stroking the topics, mostly concluding with "it's complicated", "it depends", "there are no simple answers". I was hoping to dig a bit deeper, or get directions on where and how to learn more.

The course is well-documented and has diverse sources and perspectives. However, when I enrolled, I was mainly interested in hunger and food insecurity in the context of climate change at the global level. Unfortunately, it quickly appeared that this course was 75% intended for US students, which dramatically shows in the final assignment topic, which is 100% US-centred. That said, I learned a lot, and I appreciated the short summaries made by the main teacher at the end of each presentation.

A comprehensive course on navigating the current field of sustainable food systems. I had particular interests in some novel perspectives, such as the motion to introduce perennial crops, switchgrass, and to evaluate intensive farming strategies to contribute to sustainability. Although the course was structured and well-paced, I found it difficult to take notes and take much away from the interview-style videos. It was sometimes frustrating to pull apart key points and takeaways. Overall, the course provided me with an appreciation and introductory insight into the general systems thinking approach to food production.
