This course seemed course started a little slow covering the very basics of how computer hardware and software interact. However, I did learn a few things and look forward to taking more advanced programming courses with Coursera. I really appreciate Coursera focuses on the "why" as much as the "how".

Fairly phenomenal course. Goes at a pace extremely usable for someone who has never learned a programming language. The fact that the course is written for Python 2.7 instead of 3.0 makes it slightly outdated, but it is an easy fix once you get the hang of the syntax differences between the iterations.

Wonderful training, really well put together by Dr. Chuck. His didactis is unbelievable! It makes learning not only much easier but really enjoyable! I´ll carry on into the learning track and I´m really thankful to Coursera and Dr. Chuck for this great opportunity! Cheers from Rio/Brazil. Gerlan Cidade

Programming makes sense to me now.

The course material is well thought out and progresses in a way that allows for full understanding of how the language works. I have tried learning Python, C++, and Java from other sources; this is the first time I feel I have been successful. I want't to learn more!

I liked very much the approach used for teaching programming. Clear, simple, progressive and giving practical techniques. I also appreciated a lot, the extra articles and interviews given at the end of each chapter. They enrich deeply the whole learning environment with touches of real world. Great !

This course helped me understand and write basic python programs confidently and the way of teaching by the instructor Mr. Charles is really effective as I was able to absorb and understand the information and there was no problem I faced going through the course also the book and exercises are great.

When I first enrolled in this course, I was initially worried about how complex things would be. Starting through the first week, I found myself learning a ton of things thanks to Professor Severance and his presentations. I definitely learned many things from the course and had so much fun doing so!

I already know a few programming languages and started this course because I always wanted to learn Python. It's been really easy for me. But i see why he made it so easy. You seriously can become a Programmer even if you never coded in your life with this course. I wish i had this when i started out.

O professor é muito alto-astral o que me deixou mais engajado com o tema. O curso é tido para ser feito em 7 semanas mas em 6-7 horas você finaliza.

I loved this course. The instructor was so good at explaining concepts. I grasped everything immediately. The discussion forum was helpful when i got stuck at doing assignments. The overall experience was very nice. I would like to continue and gain a specialization in this course.

This is my first course in coursera. I never expect the teaching would be these much good. Thanks to the teacher. He's just mind blowingly fantasic. Also this is the best couse to startup with programming. Thank you coursera for such opportunity to learn such things. And also Thanks to the instructor.

The course was very well structured. I've coded in several other languages but I think even a beginner would benefit and learn from this course. If I've any issues it's just the final assignment is an almost a sudden exponential level of difficulty compared to the previous ones, but I'd be nitpicking.

I had a small experience of coding before this course, but found the structure very intuitive and the instructions clear. Prior to the course I didn't even know how (or where) to enter code on my Mac, I'm now able to write some simple code to execute a range of instructions. Really interesting course.

Easy to follow, and I have no experience with coding whatsoever! Got rid of my fear of programming and looking forward to continue with the next courses. I've taken a few introductory programming courses from different providers but i think this is the best one so far for people who are starting off. It lives up to the title "Programming for Everybody". Prof Severance makes it fun which I think is important in the beginning because programming is hard!

I was so interested in learning programming especially python and i was not finding any platform to help, until i enrolled in this coursera course that gave me all the necessary information to start coding.Although, i got 100 on most of the assignments which proved that i am understanding very well.

I feel previliged to got the chance to learn python from coursera . The whole course is best suitable for working mother .This course not only provided me learning of pyton but also bosted my confidence in this language. Best thing about this course is ,it's material and type of quiz and assignment.

Charles Russell sir is an excellent teacher. Course content is organized properly from very basic to a intermediate level If you are novice we generally have question in our mind why this has happened or why this is happening, the course has all the answer. The lecturer is the most highlighted things is here. Everyone just think how to do the course but no one think how we help the student to better understand. But in this course the lecturer try every way to make the syllabus more funny with maximum understandable. That is the KEY POINT of this course.

The way this instructor teaches and explains everything makes it so much easier to learn and understand the logic behind every little thing in python. Honestly, I'd recommend anyone who wants to learn python to take this course in particular, especially if you have no prior experience in programming.
